El nombre **“HOSCARs”** proviene de *HOStelworld Customer Annual Ratings*, y desde principios de los 2000 se ha convertido en uno de los reconocimientos más respetados de la industria hostelera. - **Primeros años:** Los primeros HOSCARs premiaban a los hostales con mejores valoraciones globales, juzgados únicamente por los comentarios de los viajeros. - **Evolución:** Durante los años de la pandemia, el formato se amplió con las categorías de **Responsible Travel**, que reconocen a los hostales comprometidos con la sostenibilidad, la comunidad y la cultura. - **Hoy:** Los HOSCARs combinan ambos mundos: la **excelencia basada en datos** a través de las opiniones de los huéspedes y el **reconocimiento** a las propiedades que promueven un turismo responsable, inclusivo y ecológico.
