How to Create a Rate Plan in Counter?

Standard, Non-Refundable, Bed And Breakfast, etc. Create all the Rate Plans you need to manage your property!

Counter makes it easy to manage your availability and restrictions by letting you create as many Rate Plans as you need:

• Default/Standard (Base Rate) 
  ⚠️ This Rate Plan is created automatically by the system. Please DO NOT delete it. If you want to, you can change the name and details.
• Non-refundable (NRR)
• Bed and Breakfast (BnB)
• Non-refundable Bed and Breakfast Rate plan (NRR Bnb)
• You can also create a Rate Plan per Channel to manage your OTAs separately. This would allow you to set or change your prices according to each OTA and apply restrictions individually. 

How to Create a Rate Plan?

1. Go to the beds tab → Manage → Rates and Restrictions → New Rate Plan
2. Fill in the Basic Information:
   1. Public Name -> it is the name that will show online (eg: bed and breakfast)
   2. Private Name -> it is the name that you will use for your own reference (eg: BB)
   3. Description -> it will display online (eg: Regular room with a buffet breakfast with fresh coffee)
3. Select all the Room Types in which you wish to offer this Rate Plan
4. Rates: Choose between Stand Alone or Derived Rate plan.
   1. Stand Alone: set its own rates.
   2. Derived: within this mode, the rates will be automatically calculated on the basis of another base plan. Choose whether to decrease or increase by a fixed amount or percentage. 
5. Length of Stay: minimum length of stay (MinLOS) for the entire rate plan. Important: Thsi is for information purposes only. To apply the MinLOS, you need to update it in the rates and restrictions tab as it is explained here.
6. Cancellation: This cancellation policy will apply only for the Booking Engine, not for the OTAs. Cancellations from the OTAs depend on the cancellation policy set on each OTA.
   1. Refundable: Set the duration (days in advance to cancel before being charged), conditions and cancellation charge (% of the total amount).
   2. Non Refundable: the full balance would be charged.
7. Visibility: Select where to display this rate plan (Workspace / Frontdesk / Booking Engine)
8. Room Type Linkage: This feature allows you to link a rate plan between different room types. So, whenever you update it for one of these room types, it will automatically apply the change to the others selected with the defined conditions. (Optional)
   If you prefer not to set the room type linkage, please click 'Keep your room rates independent'. 
   

   For e.g.: You can set a rate that it is 10% higher for a 4-bed dorm than a 6-bed dorm. So, whenever you update the rates for the 6-bed dorm, the price of the 4-bed dorm will be updated (10% higher).

   Note: All these room types should be selected in the Room Types tab mentioned above, in Step 3 of this article.
