How to Fix Linkup Publishing Issues
This article explains common issues that can prevent a Linkup from publishing and provides clear steps to resolve them.
Why a Linkup May Fail to Publish
- No cover photo selected: A cover photo must be selected and marked as the starred cover image.
- Photo contains contact details: Any image displaying contact information (phone numbers, emails, handles) will prevent publishing.
- Description contains restricted words: Terms related to weapons, violence, or explicit contact details (e.g., "gun", "fire") are disallowed.
- Description contains prohibited emojis: Certain symbols (such as π₯ or π£) are flagged and not permitted.
How to Fix Publishing Problems
- Select and star a cover photo
Choose an appropriate image for your Linkup and click the star icon to set it as the cover photo.
- Remove contact details from images
Review all uploaded photos and remove or crop out any visible phone numbers, email addresses, or social media handles. - Clean up the description
Remove any restricted words or contact information from the text, and delete prohibited emojis (like π₯ or π£). - Re-attempt to publish
Once all updates are made, try publishing your Linkup again.
Troubleshooting Tips
Note: Even if your cover photo is starred, a single secondary photo containing contact information will block the entire publishing process.
- Review the full text description for isolated words or emojis that might trigger automated filters. Try rewording or simplifying problematic sections.
