How NCS works? 

NCS stands for Net Competitive Score and is a key metric that represents how competitive a property is on Hostelworld with respect to other OTAs.  

On a weekly basis we compare prices, rates and availability on Hostelworld and the rest of the OTAs and from that comparison we give a score from -100% to +100%, where a more positive score means that the property is more competitive on our platform. 

That score directly impacts the property's position on the city page. And since the position in the city search engine is directly related to the amount of visits the property has, it is very important to keep the NCS positive and high.
