To make sure guests receive accurate and complete information, we ask every property to confirm their House Rules and Conditions.

A Hostelworld representative will request the details listed below so we can publish them correctly on your listing.


1. Cancellation Policy

Please confirm:

  • How many days’ notice you require for free cancellation: 1, 2, 3, or more days

  • What you charge in case of late cancellation or no-show

    • By default, you may charge the first night

    • If you wish to charge the full stay or a different amount, this must be stated clearly

  • Whether you apply pre-payment or credit card pre-authorisation

    • If applicable, specify that the booking may be cancelled if payment or pre-authorisation fails

  • Whether you require a deposit on arrival

2. Release Period

Tell us the advance notice you require before a guest can book.

  • Anytime (recommended) β€” guests can book and arrive on the same day

  • 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, etc.

If you choose Anytime, you can also set a cut-off time for same-day bookings.

3. Payment Method for Booking Deposits

Confirm what payment types you allow Hostelworld to use when charging the deposit at booking time.

  • Credit cards only?

  • Or credit and debit cards?


4. Payment Methods at Check-in

List the payment types accepted on arrival:

  • Credit cards

  • Debit cards

  • Cash


5. Taxes

Tell us whether taxes are:

  • Included in the price, or

  • Not included β€” and specify the exact tax amount or percentage that must be added


6. Currency

Confirm the currency you want to use in your Hostelworld Inbox.


7. Minimum / Maximum Stay

Provide:

  • Your standard minimum and/or maximum stay requirements

  • Any special minimum/maximum rules for weekends, holidays, or specific dates

8. Number of Rooms / Apartments

Tell us how many units your property offers.


9. Guest Capacity

Confirm the total number of guests your property can accommodate.


10. Breakfast

State whether breakfast is:

  • Included

  • Not included (and if applicable, if it’s available for purchase)

11. Check-in & Check-out Times

Provide your standard hours for:

  • Check-in

  • Check-out


12. Reception Hours

Confirm whether you have:

  • 24-hour reception, or

  • Specific reception operating hours

  • Self check-in options (if available)


13. Map Location

Please set the exact position of your property here:

14. Special Conditions

Tell us if your property has any specific rules, including:

  • Age restrictions

  • Female-only / Male-only

  • No children allowed

  • Credit card surcharge

  • ID documentation required
