Non-Refundable Rate (NRR) / Non-Refundable Payments

A Non-Refundable Rate (NRR) means your property is authorized to charge the full remaining balance (minus the deposit already paid to Hostelworld) directly to the guest’s credit card at any time after the booking is made.

💳 Charging Non-Refundable Bookings

  • You can charge the guest’s card on file immediately after receiving the booking.

  • If you use alternative payment methods (such as PayPal or payment links), please make sure these are clearly stated on your Hostelworld profile.

  • During peak dates, you can make NRR the only available rate by disabling your Standard Rate in the system.

⚠️ If Payment Fails or the Guest Doesn’t Complete Payment

  1. Contact the guest by email to request updated or valid payment details.

  2. Flag the payment issue through your Hostelworld Inbox so our support team is aware.

  3. Wait at least 24 hours for a response before cancelling the booking.

    • If the guest is arriving within the next 24–48 hours, you can shorten this to 24 hours.

    • For same-day arrivals, contact the guest by phone and email

Make sure all contact attempts are recorded in your correspondence history before proceeding with cancellation.

💡 Tips to Avoid Payment Issues

  • Charge cards as soon as possible after receiving a non-refundable booking.

  • Confirm that your payment methods and instructions are clearly visible on your profile.

  • Keep an eye on customer replies in case you have flagged a payment issue.
